The Good the Bad and the Ugly of Qantas Business Class
Book your ride 24 hours before the flight. A chauffeur will be assigned to pick you up from the doorsteps of your hotel or home. A seamless commute to the airport is considered essential by Qantas. You may also book a complimentary drop ride before reaching your destination. These services may only be available in select cities.
Fast Track Services
Banality of standing in long queues often brings passengers to their wit’s end. Save yourself the trouble by travelling with Qantas Business class. Get fast tracked through security as well as immigration. Not many airlines offer such an option. A separate queue for Business class passengers ensures speedy checks. Dedicated boarding lanes make it easier for passengers to board the flight before the passengers of other classes.
By enabling passengers to carry 40 kgs (88 lbs) of luggage, Qantas becomes one of the few airlines that offer such generous baggage allowance. More importantly, there is a fast track service for your luggage as well. During departure from destination airport, Qantas ensures that business class passengers are provided with their baggage as soon as possible.
So when you are ready to leave, so is your baggage!
Qantas’ passengers often celebrate the lounge services provided by the airline conglomerate. Lounges at airport, especially the ones in Australia and Singapore, are equipped with state of the art facilities. From an LCD flat screen television to books and magazines, various entertainment options are available. Free wifi connection ensures the rest. I mean, wifi may be all that humans will need in the future.
Qantas enables access to Emirates’ lounges and services, sometimes featuring more than spa and showers. A mutually beneficial relationship between both these aviation giants is nothing short of a benediction for their customers. Workstations are featured in the lounges of both Emirates as well as Qantas. Learn more about the menus and dining options in the wining and dining section. Sheer alacrity fills customers when they hear about the complimentary snacks and drinks. Want more? Just order and a complimentary Barista coffee will be on its way.
Wining and Dining
From Rockpool group, Neil Perry Spice Temple has provided the archetype for inflight as well as lounge food. Qantas business class menu has been designed to a T, to inspire their customers with food in addition to comfort. Tableware has been designed by Marc Newson. Marc Newson is a designer who graduated from the acclaimed Sydney College of the Arts. He specialises in creating and curating the inflight experience of passengers.
On board connoisseurs and sommeliers ensure a restaurant like experience for passengers. Identifying, whether a pinot noir or a Jacquart Brut Mosaique would go well with a steak, isn’t a forte of a commoner. Specialized knowledge after years of wine tasting enables sommeliers to pick out the best. Desserts are served around on a trolley. Attendants take regular strolls around the cabin, offering multiple dessert choices to passengers. In 2012, Qantas won the accolades for:
Best Business Class Sparkling
Best Overall Cellar at the Cellars
A personal touch screen of 12.1 inches, of course in front of passengers seats makes them ecstatic. Children usually go agog when browsing through the cartoon selection. Movie fanatics can enjoy classics. Myriad options makes it possible for passengers to choose according to their requirement. Audiobooks for edification coupled with noise cancelling headphones enhance the overall learning experience. Everything is available on demand, thus making it easier for you to choose as per your liberty.
Cabins and Seats
Skybeds are a concept of Qantas through which they aim to provide the most comfortable travel experience to their passengers. Along with the tableware, the seats are also designed by Marc Newson. The reclinable seat turns into a fully flat bed of two meters with just a click of a button. The seats can also be shifted for extra comfort.
Excessive storage space enables passengers to bring in more stuff inside the flight. Qantas has not been able to design a cabin structure that would offer aisle access to every passenger. Also, having two seats adjacent reduces the amount of privacy. To fix this, a barrier has been provided in Qantas Business Class. Passengers can put up their side of the barrier, thus informing others that they are busy.
Solitude can easily convert into loneliness, especially on long haul international flights. To avoid this, passengers can stroll to the inflight lounge. It is a perfect place for small meetings as well as acquainting someone new. A 58 inch LCD is featured along with other wining and dining options. Inflight lounge is only available in A380.
To enable customization, Qantas allows business class passengers to pre select seats in the flights 14 hours before its inception.
Exclusive creams offered by ASPAR, are offered to passengers, such as:
- Vanilla & Orange Lip Moisturiser
- Ultra Hydrating Face Moisturiser
- Sweet Orange & Shea Hand Cream
