Air Inuit is a Canadian domestic airline company, established in the year 1978, headquartered in Saint-Laurent, Quebec, Canada. The company flies to 22 destinations within Canadian cities, has its hubs in Kuujjuaq Airport, La Grande Rivière Airport and Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.

Baggage holds special importance whether the trip is for business purpose or leisure. Thus it is imperative to know about the baggage policy before taking flight with Air Inuit in order to avoid unnecessary hassle while checking-in. Basic information related to weight and dimension of baggage are listed below:

Carry-On Baggage/Hand Baggage

Checked Baggage: 

  • Dimensions – 62 inches (Length + Breath + Height), Or
  • Weight – 30 Kg (Boeing 737, Dash - 8 or Twin Otter), 20 kg (King Air)

Weight dimensions limits

  • Weight- 5kg
  • Dimension- 115 cm

Checked Baggage: 

  • Weight: 32kg. 
  • In hold: 158 cm.

Infant Passenger Baggage Allowance:

  • Entitled to 5 kg checked luggage each

Charges

$8.40 - $9.20 for every additional kilo per every passenger. 

Special baggage

Special Charges are levied for special baggage like sports equipments and bicycles (flat fee $52.50 - $57.49 (taxes included)). Also, registration and approval is required.

Travelling pet

Must be Accompanied by a certificate of good health, and that your pet is transported in an approved pet carrier or cargo crate. Except for in-service dogs, no other pets are allowed in cabin in case of allergies for any passengers. 

Pet excess baggage charges are listed below

  • Combined Weight of both pet and carriage is up to 22 kg - $105.00 - $114.98.
  • Combined Weight of both pet and carriage is from 23 kg to 45 kg - $157.50 - $172.46.
  • Combined Weight of both pet and carriage is over 45 kg - $236.25 - $258.69

Baggage children

Damage

In case of any damaged, missing or delayed baggage, passenger is required to immediately get in touch with proper authorities of Air Inuit once the flight lands. It is required for the passenger to fill out lost or damaged baggage claim to ensure proper process is followed to locate the baggage. A period of 5 days is taken by the airline to locate the baggage, on failure of which the passenger can fill out a claim form within 30 days of their arrival.
