The airline has operated several types of aircraft and has seen all major revolutions in the aviation industry. In May of 2004, KLM Airlines and Air France completed the deal on their merger; both airlines retained their brands but became subsidiaries of a holding company which was christened Air France-KLM Airlines. Currently, the airline has its hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and headquarters at Amstelveen.

The Europe business class is designed for short haul flights and for this reason, it does not have a personal entertainment system.

Note that there is no personal entertainment in Europe business class which is a short-haul product. AVOD provides access to TV programs, movies, video games and language courses. It also allows passengers to send text messages and email to the ground. As a supplementary entertainment tool, the airline offers an assortment of magazines on long-haul flights. In-flight Internet connectivity is gradually being implemented and will soon be on all of KLM’s Airlines flights.
